TIGHT-fisted tourists have been using a cemetery as their campground in a desperate bid to save cash.
A Northern Territory town's cemetery is now sporting an unusual feature among its headstones and flowers – "no camping" signs, the Northern Territory News reports.

While Darwin has been struggling with its usual backpacker brigade blocking up space by popular beach locales, Katherine has been copping irreverent campers setting up in the local cemetery.

It has had to take the unusual step of erecting the signs to officially confirm it's not OK to pull up in your caravan and have a wash.

Katherine mayor Anne Shepherd said there had been a few tourists camping there during the dry season.

The Australian Government's plans to enact a law for an emissions trading scheme are in chaos and the opposition Liberal party is in meltdown over the climate change legislation. But Australian scientists have their own cunning plan to stop global warming - breed a sheep that doesn't burp.

Farting cows and sheep have been blamed for most of the methane emissions that have helped take Australia to the top of the world's carbon footprint league table. Around 12 per cent of the country's total greenhouse gas emissions originate with agriculture, and 70 per cent of that amount is made up of methane, which has 17 times the environmental warming capacity of carbon dioxide.

COMPUTER giant Apple is refusing to honour warranties on broken machines belonging to smokers.

Apple has already declined to work on at least three machines in the US, claiming the insides were so heavily coated in tar and potentially poisonous substances they posed a health risks to technicians working on the machines.

Work safety authorities say any employer has the right to prevent employees performing tasks considered hazardous to their health.

That potentially opens the way for other computer manufacturers as well as other industries to implement similar policies against smokers, with several PC repair shops prepared to follow Apple's stance.

IF you loved Michael Jackson's music, now you can wear the king of pop's fragrance - thanks to a perfume that has been made using DNA samples from his hair.
A Los Angeles-based company called My DNA Fragrance claims to engineer scents from human genetic codes.
The firm recently joined forces with John Reznikoff, who has the world's largest collection of historical hair, including some of the late singer's.
It claims on its website: "DNA can be extracted from hair shafts with or without the follicle intact.
"My DNA Fragrance has analysed Reznikoff's private collection of celebrity hair and is now engineering exclusive fragrances of each celebrity."
They are selling perfume they say has been made from hair from Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Napoleon Bonaparte and even Edward IV.
