A PRISONER was allegedly shifted to a police station to have sex with his girlfriend and inject drugs in exchange for pleading guilty to 20 break and enters.
IT'S almost too fanciful to be true: a prisoner is picked up from jail and taken for a drive by police officers through the suburbs on Brisbane's southside.
He's handed a list of unsolved break-and-enters, perhaps as many as 300. He reads the details: how entry was gained, what was taken, the time the crime was committed.
And he's told that he needs to admit to at least 20 to make his reward worthwhile.
What was that? According to evidence given by the prisoner to the Crime and Misconduct Commission, police collected his girlfriend and delivered her to Morningside police station, reports the Courier Mail.
And it was there where they engaged in sex and the prisoner injected himself with drugs his girlfriend brought...

People have reported seeing "swarms" of the flying insects over the weekend, coming out from under paving stones and flying into people's hair, particularly in the south of England.
However, insect experts said there is no need to panic – it is part of annual summer mating ritual for Lasius Niger, the common garden black ant.
For a few brief days towards the end of July the queen ants grow wings and ensure their male mates do likewise; then they both take to the skies to reproduce in their millions.
After mating, both the females and males lose their wings, with the queens going in search of somewhere to hibernate until they lay eggs and set up a new colony.

A MELBOURNE father who tried to burn down his house while his daughters and wife were inside has been jailed for four years.
Angry his wife had failed to make him lunch, Rajah Theiveneraeas, 54, poured petrol on a staircase and set it alight.
His wife Vasangha and daughters Amviga, 21, and Anoja, 16, were forced to flee through the flames.
They suffered superficial burns.

AN Adelaide man will face separate drink driving charges after going to a police station to ask for directions.
The 27-year-old was breath-tested at the police station, charged with drink driving and had his licence cancelled on the spot.
Police say the man went to the Aldinga station, south of Adelaide, on Friday to ask for directions to a local school so he could pick up his grandchildren.
After being charged, the man left the Aldinga police station - and drove away..

A FISHING boat trawling for mussels off the Dutch coast has instead landed a 40,000 year-old human bone, German scientists said today after examining the find.
Anthropologists from the University of Leipzig in eastern Germany confirmed that the forehead bone was "at least 40,000 years old and therefore the oldest ever found underwater,'' according to August's edition of GEO magazine.
The fishermen also found the caveman's "tool kit'', consisting of a hand-axe and flints.

A CRUISE ship has arrived at the Port of Vancouver with a dead whale lodged in its bow.
The Princess Cruise Lines' Sapphire Princess was docked at the Canada Place terminal on Saturday with the whale still stuck to it.
The ship arrived on Saturday morning on its return from the Alaska run with the whale firmly wedged in the bulbous bow, the Vancouver Sun reported on its website. See photos of the whale here.
The whale's fin and part of its back was protruding from the water.
Lisa Spaven, from the the BC Marine Mammal Response Network, told the Sun it appeared to be a fin whale, a threatened species in Canada.
She estimated the whale was about 20 metres long.
Ms Spaven said the ship's captain wasn't aware of the whale until the ship docked at Canada Place.

NORTH Korea is promoting the virtue of dog meat as a way to beat the summer heat and says customers are packing Pyongyang restaurants which serve the traditional dish.
The North has been hosting dog meat food contests to help develop the traditional cuisine, the official Korean Central News Agency said.
Dog meat is called dangogi, or "sweet meat", a euphemism coined by North Korea's founder Kim Il-Sung in the early 1980s.
"Our ancestors believed hot dangogi soup consumed during the dog days of summer helped prevent diseases from malnutrition and bolster stamina," KCNA said.
It cited a 17th-Century book on herbal medicine to tout the nutritional value of dog meat.
