JERUSALEM — An Israeli horse took to the highway and trampled an oncoming car in an encounter captured on video by a group of tourists in northern Israel.
The tourists began filming when three horses came on the highway and began to canter alongside their car, but the scene took a bizarre turn when an oncoming car came on the scene. The first two horses weaved out of the sedan's path, but the third took it head-on, smashing through its windshield with its hooves before leaping over it and continuing on its way.
The video captured the impact as well as the passengers hollering "Oh God" and "Whoa."

A pelican at the Tautphaus Park Zoo took something other than food in his bill when a cell phone that had been dropped in a pool at the exhibit made its way down the hatch.
The flock in the exhibit were playing with the phone Monday until one of the birds swallowed it. For three hours, zookeepers couldn't figure out which bird did it until the culprit coughed up the goods.

A MAN who allegedly fired a high-powered rifle into his two-year-old son's bedroom ceiling then claimed he had shot the boy has won partial custody of his three young children.
In making the interim ruling, Federal Magistrate Janet Terry listed the mother’s "very detailed allegations" about the man’s anger and violence - including his convictions on three firearms offences arising from the domestic argument two years ago.
The custody arrangements allow the father to spend about 22 per cent of school terms with the kids, who are now aged from two to four, and half of every school holidays.

A grieving mother in Britain was fined $173 for spending too long at her son's coffin before it was taken away for cremation.
Terrie Rouse, 32, said her grief turned to shock when officials told her she had taken too long to say goodbye, The Daily Mail reported.
"The vicar had asked if I would like to spend a bit more time saying goodbye," she said. "I sat by the coffin for 10 minutes, telling my son how much we loved him and begging him not to be scared."
Officials at the crematorium, run by a local English council, impose an extra charge if any funeral runs over its 30-minute slot.
However, the couple's funeral directors said there was plenty of time for the next funeral which was not due to take place for another 50 minutes.

A Massachusetts mother was horrified when she found her 7-month-old child’s photo on popular promotions site, Craigslist, advertising his own adoption.
MyFOXBoston reports that a stranger alerted Jenni Brennan of Abington, Mass. to the photo, which involved her 7-month-old son, Jake, in an online adoption scam. The ad read: “A CUTE BABY BOY FOR ADOPTION HE IS VERY HEALTHY AND READY FOR ADOPTION FOR MORE YOU COME BACK TO US.” Brennan responded to the ad, receiving an email describing her son as Canadian but currently living in an African orphanage.
She said the photo was from her family’s blog.
