A PERUVIAN "brotherhood," accused of murdering at least 60 people and selling victims' fat to foreign cosmetics traders, carried out its grisly work undetected for 30 years, Peruvian police said.
The gang used abandoned buildings in the Amazon jungle and high Andes to clandestinely butcher victims and "formed a network, or brotherhood that carried out criminal activities," police general Eusebio Felix said.
Peruvian authorities have taken three men and a woman into custody and are hunting two unnamed Italians suspected of buying human fat for as much as $US15,000 ($16,300)a litre - to be used in European cosmetics.

A HEADTEACHER is fighting to save her career after getting a convicted sex offender to carry out work for her school.
Kathleen Tyson was sacked from Holy Trinity CE Primary School, Bank Top, Darwen, in 2007.
Now she has been accused of ‘unacceptable professional misconduct’ by the General teaching Council, a regulatory body which monitors the conduct of teachers.
If found guilty Mrs Tyson could be struck off the teaching register.
A hearing was told Mrs Tyson was friends with the sex offender, referred to only as Mr A, and was aware he on the sex offenders register for indecently assaulting a boy and possessing indecent images of children.
But she still allowed him to provide services to the school on four occasions, the GTC was told. The GTC was told that Mr A was given images of pupils to create a school prospectus cover for Mrs Tyson.
However, in a statement to the GTC, Mrs Tyson said he did not go onto the premises when the school was open.

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — A California man was arrested after allegedly paying a teenager $31 to spit in his face.
Ventura County authorities say the 39-year-old resident of Thousand Oaks, whose name wasn't released, has made a habit of recruiting boys on MySpace to yell profanities at him, slap him and spit at him.
The teens are male students at Westlake High School, investigators said. The man was booked on a misdemeanor child annoyance charge, then released from Ventura County Jail on a promise to appear in court.

A FORMER Parliament House barmaid has gone public with claims of a sexual relationship with South Australian Premier Mike Rann.
In a paid interview with the Seven Network's Sunday Night program, to be aired tomorrow night, Michelle Chantelois said her torrid affair with Mr Rann had involved sex in his Parliament House office on several occasions when parliament was sitting. Mr Rann faces a state election next March.

Before she had even turned 10, Anna had started worrying that there was something physically wrong with her. "I would look at other girls in the shower, and think, 'They don't have what I have,'" she says, and wearing a pair of jeans became uncomfortable. The issue was her inner labia. Anna felt that they were too large, and as an adult she grew increasingly self- conscious. "During intercourse they would get caught up and go back into my body," she says. "I had one sexual partner who mentioned it [negatively]. He was an idiot, but I knew that it was not the norm. I just wanted to be able to have intimacy without worrying about it."
Now in her mid-30s, Anna [not her real name], from London, recently had a procedure known as labiaplasty, which involves cutting back the inner labia. It costs around £3,000. She says that she is pleased with the results. "It's a weight off my mind. I'm so glad I had it done."
Anna's operation was performed privately and, although there are no industry-wide figures, there are clear signs that labiaplasties in the private sector are increasing. Last year, a representative for the medical group Surgicare said that the company had seen a threefold increase in the procedure in 2007/2008, and that enquiries had risen sevenfold in three years. Perhaps more surprisingly, rates are also rising in the public sector. A study published in the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology last week revealed that, over the last year, there has been an increase of almost 70% in the number of women having labiaplasty on the NHS. There were 1,118 in 2008, compared with 669 in 2007 and 404 in 2006
