A living nativity scene in near the Colorado ski resort of Vail almost had to go without two crucial actors when two donkeys escaped.
The nativity scene is an annual tradition for Eagle River Presbyterian Church in the Vail Valley. Pastor Rob Wilson says two borrowed donkeys were being held in a fenced-in pen for the event Wednesday night, but the animals pushed their way through it, the Vail Daily reports.
A church member who stopped by the church Wednesday morning noticed the donkeys were gone. He and a sheriff's deputy followed footprints in the snow and eventually caught up with them

EMPLOYEES at a luxury UK food chain were handed a festive bonus of Christmas puddings - which went out of date nearly 10 months ago.
Bosses at Premier Foods attached a letter to each of the $11 puddings assuring staff they were still safe to eat, despite the March 2 2009 expiry date shown on the packaging.
"You don't get any more 'Bah humbug' than trying to pass off out of date food as a Christmas present" a worker said.

THOMSON, Ga. (AP) - An east Georgia man trying to get revenge on his estranged girlfriend by firebombing her home was being held without bond after he threw the device into the wrong house. Authorities said a 25-year-old man was charged with arson, aggravated assault and possession of an explosive device - all felonies. The Augusta Chronicle reported Tuesday he was being held in the McDuffie County jail.
Authorities said no one was injured Sunday night when the man allegedly tossed the Molotov cocktail through the front window of a Thomson home just before 9 p.m. Police arrested the man soon after the incident.
