A teacher who was sacked after offering to pray for a sick student says she has been treated like a criminal.Olive Jones was dismissed from her job as a home-visit teacher after she spoke about her faith with a girl's mother.
The maths teacher gives lessons to children who are too ill to attend school.
When the girl did not feel up to the November 25 visit, Mrs Jones spoke to her mother over a cup of tea and asked whether she could say a prayer.
The teacher - a mother of two herself - said when the woman told her the family were not believers, she did not go ahead.

SANTA was forced to swap his sleigh for a rescue boat as he made an abrupt detour last night to save the lives of two stricken beachgoers at Torquay beach in Victoria.
More than 100 surf club members watched as Santa and two patrol members hauled two boogie boarders to safety after were swept out to sea in a strong rip about 6.30pm, according to the Geelong Advertiser.
Santa and a sack-full of lollies had just been loaded onto an inflatable rescue boat for his grand beachfront entrance at the surf club's Christmas Party when an urgent rescue call came through.
In front of eager kids on the sand and parents overlooking from the balcony, Santa emerged from behind Cosy Corner and tore across the sea to the drama unfolding at Point Danger.

A WOMAN was encouraging her son to speed when both were charged with dangerous driving on a busy Gold Coast road, police said.
Officers on traffic duty on Seaworld Drive at The Spit at 11am (AEST) yesterday allegedly saw two cars driving at up to 140km/h in the 60km/h zone.
An unmarked car intercepted the cars and officers learned they were being driven by a mother and son, aged 42 and 20.

Maybe it was nine lives, but one feline is lucky to be alive after he was found with his paws glued to a Minnesota interstate, KSFY.com reported.
A couple saw the cat on the side of the road and thought it had been injured by a car, the KSFY.com reported. But the cat was stuck, though its paw pads were ripped off by the glue when the couple removed him from the road, the site reported.
Members of animal adoption organization, Second Chance Rescue, expressed outrage at the treatment of the cat, which has been named Timothy.
