Two central Pennsylvania friends spent most of March in a text-messaging record attempt, exchanging a thumbs-flying total of 217,000. For one of the two, that meant an inches-thick itemized bill for $26,000. "It came in a box that cost $27.55 to send to me," he said Tuesday.

BRITAIN'S Got Talent star Susan Boyle has proved five times more popular on YouTube than US President Barack Obama. The Scots singer’s sensational audition - singing I Dreamed A Dream from the musical Les Miserables - has been watched by 100 million fans worldwide on the video-sharing website, The Sun reported.

It dwarfs the 18.5 million who logged on to view clips of Mr Obama’s January inauguration ceremony, and it's only been been online for a week.

It is now 18 million views short of becoming YouTube’s most-watched video - overtaking Judson Laipply’s Evolution of Dance.

The self-confessed virgin from Blackburn is the site’s fastest chart-mover ever.

More than 850 users have uploaded videos of her.

The rising number of fat people was blamed for global warming on Monday.

Scientists warned that the increase in big eaters means more food production — a major cause of CO2 gas emissions warming the planet.

Overweight people are also more likely to drive, adding to environmental damage.

Dr. Phil Edwards, of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, said: "Moving about in a heavy body is like driving in a gas guzzler."

Each fat person is said to be responsible for emitting a ton more of climate-warming carbon dioxide per year than a thin one.

A VIETNAMESE airline passenger has been found carrying an infant's dead body in his luggage, a senior security official said.
Security staff at southern Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat airport discovered the tiny corpse when checking the luggage of a man about to fly to the northern port city of Hai Phong, the official said, refusing to be named or to provide other details.

According to the Thanh Nien newspaper, Vu Van Tho, 36, was trying to carry home for burial the body of his son, who died when his mother gave birth prematurely.

A similar case was reported last year when a passenger was discovered carrying the body of a relative's daughter. She died a day after birth and was being returned to the family's native province for burial.

A New York judge has given a woman permission to harvest her dead lover's sperm so she can still have his baby.

Johnny Quintana was only 31 when he died Thursday of an apparent heart attack.

He had wanted to have a second child with his fiancee, Gisela Marrero, but the only way to make it happen was to quickly collect his sperm, which stays fresh for only 36 hours after death.

A court order was needed because Quintana and Marrero were not yet married.

The Bronx judge said "yes" Friday with only four hours left until the deadline.

Sperm bank staffers then rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where Quintana's body lay.

A HONG Kong airline is investigating claims that a couple travelling first class from Toronto, Canada, used the crew rest area to join the "mile-high club".
The couple were allegedly invited by an airline staff member to use the rest area onboard a Cathay Pacific plane to have sex after being spotted getting intimate in their seats, German news agency DPA reports.

The passenger, a US doctor, said he knew the staff member from previous flights.

“On these long, long flights there isn't really anything to do after the meal service so my gf (girlfriend) and I were cuddling and watching movies,” the passenger wrote on his blog.

“With the magnificent large bed one thing led to another and soon my friend Alvin was at our side saying would you like the privacy of our crew rest upstairs? It is currently unoccupied.”

He also posted pictures on a blog showing himself lying on the bunk as evidence of his “adventure”.

Cathay Pacific said it was examining the blog, which was posted earlier this month, to see if the staff member broke the rules by allowing passengers into the crew rest area.

There has been word that this story is unfounded. Nothing has been confirmed either way.

The father of Slumdog Millionaire child actress Rubina Ali has reportedly tried to sell his nine-year-old daughter for adoption in a bid to escape the Mumbai slums.

Britain's News of the World says Rafiq Qureshi wanted $557,000 for the girl, who played the young Latika in the British hit film set in India.

News of the World reporters posed as a wealthy family from Dubai looking to adopt.

The paper said a Mumbai informant told it Mr Qureshi was touting for the highest offer for his child, having already been approached by a Middle Eastern family.
